Michelle B. Polan, MD, FACMG

Dr. Michelle Barbara Polan is a board-certified clinical geneticist and medical biochemical geneticist who has been providing personalized medical genetics care to children and adults since 2013.

Dr. Polan was born and raised in Poland. In 1989 she graduated from Akademia Medyczna in Gdansk as a Doctor of Medicine.

Her post-graduate training in Poland includes: internship, residency and fellowship in radiation oncology. Dr. Polan was practicing radiation oncology for about seven years. Subsequently, after meeting her current husband, she came to the United States.

As an international graduate, Dr. Polan became certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) as a Doctor of Medicine in 2005. Her post-graduate training in the US includes: pediatric residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ; clinical medical genetics residency at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH; medical biochemical genetics fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA. 

Dr. Polan has been living in Oklahoma with her husband and two children since 2016. She worked as medical geneticist at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Section of Genetics and at the INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Genetics in Oklahoma City before opening MedX Genetic Services in 2024.
